Consultation & Clothing Recommendations First, be sure to call ahead to discuss the type of portrait you have in mind. We work only by appointment - no walk-ins are available. This allows us to properly plan for your individualized session, and ensure you receive the attention you deserve. Would you like your portraits to be formal or casual? Inside or outside? Traditional or contemporary? Color or black-and-white? Desk portraits or wall portraits? Jenkins Custom Photography, Ltd., will work with you to coordinate everything for your session. Proper clothing and accessories can't be emphasized enough in the creation of your professional portraits. When the right clothing, accessories and props are selected, it helps to create a truly timeless portrait. White, ivory, and pastels are often used for infants and very young children. Solids and carefully coordinated subtle patterns or accents will add to the beauty of your portraits. Avoid bright colors, bold patterns, writing, and characters. Include appropriate socks and shoes, or plan to have your child photographed barefoot. If more than one person will be photographed, be sure to coordinate clothing for everyone, remembering that color and style should be similar from head to toe. The best thing is to keep it simple, and if you're in doubt, bring extra clothing options to the studio.
Session Information We work by appointment to give you the dedication and personal attention you deserve in the creation of your portraits. In order to provide you with the best experience, a reservation and prepayment is required for your session. Please be sure to call in advance for your consultation to properly plan your session. Evenings and Saturdays book more quickly than weekdays, so be sure to reserve your session a sufficient time in advance. We use only professional equipment and materials in creating your portraits, ensuring you’ll enjoy them for years to come. You session will most likely last about an hour. Please be sure to arrive on time. Images from your session can be viewed and ordered in the studio about two weeks after your session date. You will see a beautiful slide show presentation put to music for your enjoyment. Please bring any purchase decision makers to this appointment, along with your list of gift ideas. To avoid distractions during this appointment, it is recommended and preferred that only adults attend. Due to the custom nature of our portraits, finished orders will be completed in 4-6 weeks. Portrait Purchases A variety of products is available from your portrait session, including individual small gift portraits, framed wall portraits, leatherette desk folios, desk frames, framed wall folios with multiple images, albums, watercolor greeting cards, various announcements, holiday cards, and other specialty items.
